Spanish Chiller ORGY OF THE LIVING DEAD Coming to Blu-ray

Full Moon’s release of classic Paul Naschy film will be uncut and in HD for the first time

Full Moon is excited to announce the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release of one of the greatest European Gothic horror films of the 1970s: Director Jose Luis Merino’s eerie and erotic masterwork ORGY OF THE LIVING DEAD!

Also released as THE HANGING WOMAN, BEYOND THE LIVING DEAD and RETURN OF THE ZOMBIES (under which name Full Moon’s iconic Wizard Video VHS label put it out under in the early 1980s), Merino’s terrifying chiller is filled with atmosphere, dread, nudity, gore and zombies galore and also features memorable appearances by FRANKENSTEIN’S BLOODY TERROR’s Aurora de Alba and SPASMO’s Maria Pia Conte. Full Moon is thrilled to be presenting ORGY OF THE LIVING DEAD fully uncut on Blu-ray and DVD for the first time in America, remastered from the original 35mm negative.

When handsome gentleman Serge (Stelvio Rosi) arrives in a quiet 19th century European village for the reading of his late uncle’s will, he immediately enters a nightmare world of mad science, murder and reanimated corpses. First, his cousin is found murdered, hanging by a cemetery tree, a crime that leads Serge to the subterranean lair of a psychotic doctor (Gerard Tichy) and his comely daughter (Dyanik Zurakowska, THE VAMPIRES’ NIGHT ORGY) who, along with their necrophiliac hunchback slave Igor (horror legend Paul Naschy in one of his weirdest roles) is experimenting with bringing the dead back to life. As Serge gets closer to uncovering the ghoulish secrets of his Uncle’s demise, the mystery deepens and the orgy of horror begins.

ORGY OF THE LIVING DEAD will be widely distributed through MVD in November but will be on sale in late July from our store FullMoonDirect.com, with premiere streaming dates on Full Moon Features and Full Moon’s Amazon Channel to be announced.

The film is part of an exciting multi-picture Eurohorror licensing deal that will see Full Moon releasing several obscure genre films fully uncut and remastered, including such rarely seen titles as the Italian/Turkish Klaus Kinski thrillers THE HAND THAT FEEDS THE DEAD and LOVER OF THE MONSTER.
